Norlha is a non-political, non-religious, non-profit association based in Lausanne, Switzerland that supports remote communities in the Himalayas. Norlha builds the capacities and encourages the sustainable development of these communities through its integrated food security, income generation and environment protection projects with a strong focus on supporting women. Membership Manager
Volunteer position, long-term assignment
The Membership Manager will take overall responsibility for the organisation’s membership. Working in collaboration with the Head of Communications and Administration, the Membership Manager will report directly to the Executive Director.
Responsibilities and tasks
- Design and implement a new membership strategy in collaboration with other departments. Evaluate effectiveness of development strategies;
- Update and improve Norlha’s membership offering;
- Develop Norlha’s membership marketing and communications initiatives
- Create and launch periodic membership drives;
- Ensure that all regulatory and marketing communications with members are conducted in a timely and appropriate manner;
- Develop technical measures for payments and administration;
- Monitor, analyse and report on membership trends, statistics and opportunities.
Candidate Profile
- Self-starting manager who can anticipate opportunities and address them proactively by collaborating with internal and external stakeholders;
- Knowledge and preferably experience in the development of membership or customer bases or marketing;
- Analytical thinker with strong project management skills and an entrepreneurial nature;
- Proficient in using Excel or other database tools and in analysing and utilising data metrics;
- Excellent speaking and writing skills in English and preferably also in French.
- Excellent computer skills and organisation skills.
- Highly motivated to be a part of an international development NGO.
