Norlha is a non-profit, non-political, non-religious association based in Lausanne, Switzerland, that supports remote communities in the Himalayas in building capacities that will allow their sustainable development, through integrated projects in food security, income generation and environment protection, with a strong focus on supporting women. This Swiss-based position provides support to the Norlha Kathmandu office on the implementation of Norlha’s Building Better Lives Project in two districts in Nepal. In response to the earthquake in Nepal in 2015, Norlha has started a reconstruction project and is looking for a:
Programme Manager

Responsibilities and tasks
· Monitor and evaluating project achievements together with Norlha Kathmandu Office.
· Establish progress- and financial reports of the project for reporting to funders.
· Providing technical information on reconstruction and disaster risk management
· Working together with Norlha’s Gender Team to foster gender inclusion in the project.
· Collaborating with Fundraising officers for identifying and reporting to donors.
· Collaborating with Communication officers for informing the general public.
· Formulation of additional projects on reconstruction together with Norlha Kathmandu office.
Candidate Profile
· Experience/engagement in international development and humanitarian aid, involvement in the field projects in developing countries.
· Interest and preferable experience in project management.
· Knowledge/experience in relief, reconstruction and disaster risk management, interest in learning more.
· Proficient in reporting, in analysis and synthesis.
· Degree (or final stage) in studies in international development and humanitarian aid.
· Excellent speaking and writing skills in English and preferably also in French.
· Good knowledge of and affinity with the Himalayas are a definite asset.
· Highly motivated and dynamic personality, comfortable working autonomously and in a team, eager to take initiatives.

Duration and work time: minimum 6, preferably 9 months or longer, part-time assignment at 30%.
This post is not paid and an applicant must have a currently valid working permit in Switzerland
Location: Norlha office in Lausanne; partial home-based work is possible.
