Switzerland: Senior Finance Manager

Norlha is a non-profit, non-political, non-religious association based in Lausanne, Switzerland, that supports remote communities in the Himalayas in building capacities that will allow their sustainable development, through integrated projects in food security, income generation and environment protection, with a strong focus on supporting women. Currently Norlha is looking for:

Senior Finance Manager

Professional volunteer position

Mission and Activities

Management

· Maintain a document system of accounting policies and procedures.

· Manage and coordinate Finance department tasks.

· Interpret the organization’s financial results and advice management in the formulation of its overall strategic direction.

· Collaborate with other managers.

Funds Management

· Forecast cash flow positions, related borrowing needs, and available funds for investment.

· Ensure that sufficient funds are available to meet ongoing operational and capital investment requirements.

· Maintain banking relationships.

· Arrange for equity and debt financing.

Budgeting

· Manage the preparation of the organization’s budget.

· Report to management on variances from the established budget, and the reasons for those variances.

Financial Analysis

· Engage in ongoing cost reduction analyses.

· Manage the capital budgeting process, based on constraint analysis and discounted cash flow analysis.

· Create additional analyses and reports as requested by management.

· Engage in benchmarking studies to establish areas of potential operational improvement.

Candidate Profile

· 8+ years of experience in a similar position; NGO experience preferred.

· CPA or MBA preferred.

· Have a flare for numbers, work well with people.

· Strong experience in income statement and cash flow forecast analysis.

· Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP and Pivot tables). Experience with Cresus or equivalent, and Business Intelligence. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.

· Strong organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills.

· Strong verbal and written communication skills within the team.

· Self-motivated to learn new concepts and participate in new projects.

*Duration and work time:*** Long term position: at least 9 months at 50% or more
